Introduction

Oom Nama Shivaya
Oom Namo Narayana

Thank you for stopping by my theological blog spot. My first request is: Please, please send me an email at hkumar55@gmail.com so I know you have visited the site. If you choose please send me your comments as well. If I have your email address, I will also let you know when I post a new blog. Please note that I am an amateur and have no interest in any commercial aspects of your email or contact information.  At the very least – a hello would be nice. Please!!

From a very young age, I have been fascinated by man’s quest for seeking the ultimate truth - The supreme – the force, the god, the divine. The constant strive towards trying to find the meaning of life and answer the big questions of life, death, world, universe etc.

The critics argue that it is just man’s inadequacy and insecurity driving this. Trying to justify anything that which cannot be explained with the limited knowledge that is currently possessed by  man - as a ‘god’ or ‘the force’ etc.

I enjoy reading the various philosophies, especially Vedanta; the various means of helping man find peace and happiness. I am a man of science and so I translate almost everything I read in the world of philosophy and theology to what is relevant to my scientific modern ipad/iphone digital world.

Each time I have spoken about this subject to my friends (quite often J) – they seemed to actually get a lot out of it and have constantly urged me to write. After years and years of resisting (not sure why), I caved and this blog is my attempt at translating the often difficult to understand world of Vedanta philosophy and theology into simple terms that I can understand.

I have to formally disclaim that I am not by any means an expert in philosophy or theology. I consider myself an amateur with an interest. I have had the good fortune of wonderful parents, family, friends and elders that have given me a lot of my current knowledge. I have no commercial interests in these blogs. As I am writing it, it is definitely telling me that I and still skimming the surface and have a very long way to go to understand its depths.

To add to my basic knowledge, I continue to research constantly. I will keep this list of references constantly updated as I continue my quest to understand the ultimate truth. Hope you find something in these books, documents, commentaries that will help you.
